Master of Biomedical Engineering By Research

A student shall carry out research in any of the areas of research stated in the areas of Biomedical Engineering. Assessment is by semester progress reports and a thesis examinaton (viva voce). All research works are supervised by academic stafs from the Graduate Faculty member. The programme requires a nominal duraton of three to four semester (18 to 24 months).



Doctor Of Philosophy Biomedical Engineering By Research

This programme of study is by research only. The programme requires a nominal duration of six normal 15-week semesters (3 years). The progress of the student is assessed each semester through a progress report. The degree is awarded based on a comprehensive examination (viva voce) of the doctoral thesis submitted by the student at end of study. All PhD research are supervised by academic staffs from the Graduate Faculty member.



Areas of Research for Postgraduate Studies

The main areas of research in FKBSK are spread across the wide spectrum of Biomedical Engineering disciplines. These areas are listed as below:

  • Biomedical Instrumentaton and Signal Processing - Telemedicine, Biomedical Instrumentaton, Embedded ystem and Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Biomedical Imaging and Image Processing.
  • Clinical Science and Engineering - Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, Clinical Engineering, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (Scan CT Scan), X-Ray
  • Therapy and Rehabilitation - Rehabilitation Engineering, Sports Rehabilitaton & Training, Speech Training & Therapy, Assistve Aids For The Handicapped, Therapy & Training Aids For The Mentally Retarded
  • Biomechanics and Biomedical Materials - Biosolid/Biofluid Mechanics, Biomechanics, Biomaterials, Biocompatibility, Modeling and Simulation, Prosthetic/Orthotic, Motion Analysis, Ergonomics, Biomedical Manufacturing
